Carlos Oliveira

Biography

Originally from South America, Oliveira has Native American blood running through his veins - but his citizenship is unknown. As a member of Unit D in Division A of the U.B.C.S. he is responsible for attacks, equipments and far-region surveillance. He is deemed an expert on all weapon systems originating from the former eastern bloc and is a skilled driver and pilot. His weapons knowledge is a direct result of his experience as a lone soldier in a communist guerilla unit.

A couple of years ago his former employee's connections to the Mafia nearly cost him his life. Through sheer luck he survived a cleansing operation aimed at his unit by the local government. As he was trying to escape over the border, he was captured and arrested by a government patrol in the mountains. Shortly afterwards, he was sentenced to death and spent several weeks in solitary confinement. Eventually, a security expert of the Umbrella Corporation bought Carlos out of prison. He was to be issued with a new citizenship and receive a second lease of life - serving, of course, under the command of Umbrella.

At first sight, Carlos seems careless and unreliable - but he is actually a warmhearted and passionate human being with a strong sense of justice. It is only the experiences he had during his youth that are responsible for the remaining signs of weakness. A self-proclaimed ladies' man, he is more than willing to offer his services to one Jill Valentine, a seemingly helpless civilian he bumps into during the alleged U.B.C.S. rescue mission in Raccoon City at the time of the T-virus outbreak.
