Biography
Sentenced to death on a charge of first-degree murder for his role in the slaughter of 23 people, second lieutenant Billy Coen finds himself on a ride to Regarthon base, where his sentence will be carried out upon arrival. However, as the transport passes through the dense forest area in the Arklay mountains, a fatal accident occurs. Fatal, that is, to everyone except the former U.S. Marine Corps assassin. Realizing that he is being a second lease of life, Billy sets out to find the nearest city, but soon discovers that the area is infested with extremely vicious, blood-thirsty creatures he has never seen before.
Greatly outnumbered, the marine is forced to retreat deeper and deeper into the forest, until he comes across a stationary train - the Ecliptic Express - in the middle of nowhere. Taking shelter inside the train until the monsters outside are gone, he eventuall encounters Rebecca Chambers. However, knowing about his sentence, following an investigation into the transport crash site by her and the rest of the Bravo Team a little earlier, she is far from trusting the escaped convict.
Sensing that the S.T.A.R.S. officer is likely to arrest him, Billy decides to go his own way. However, several outlandish events inside the train eventually force him to join forces with Rebecca and gain her trust in order to survive. Although shaky at first, their alliance gradually gains momentum until it ultimately confronts the ex-marine with the ghosts from his past.
